Designation: CEO, Pepsico
“You might be president of PepsiCo and on the board of directors. But when you enter this house, you’re the wife, the daughter, the daughter-inlaw and the mother. Nobody else can take that place. So leave that crown in the garage. Don’t bring it into the house,” said her mother the day she rushed home to tell her mother that she had been appointed president on the board of directors.
Indra Krishnamurthy Nooyi is the Chairperson and CEO of PepsiCo from 2001, the second largest food and beverage business in the world by net revenue.
She has directed the company’s global strategy for more than a decade and also took the lead in the acquisition of Tropicana in 1998 and merger with Quaker Oats Company.
Indra also serves as an Honorary Co-Chair for the World Justice Project which works to lead a global, multidisciplinary effort to strengthen the Rule of Law for the development of communities of opportunity and equity.
She juggles her career and her family every day. And her mother’s words help her keep the balance between both the worlds, becoming the perfect role model for aspiring female businesswomen all over the globe.
