Not a hair out of place

For Paria Ghorashi, realization struck after having her baby girl. “There just aren’t enough hours in a day for a working woman to do it all,” she says. This led to the launch of her company Blowout&Go that offers hair and makeup services at your doorstep, whether that be your home or office. Sharon Carvalho spends a day with the dynamic woman to find out how she navigates her busy day and looks fabulous through it all

“AS A FULL TIME MOTHER AND CAREER WOMAN, I OFTEN STRUGGLED TO FIND THE TIME TO VISIT THE HAIR SALON, ESPECIALLY IMMEDIATELY AFTER THE BIRTH OF MY CHILD. I CREATED THE CONCEPT OF BLOWOUT & GO TO SPECIFICALLY HELP WOMEN, SO THAT THEY COULD LOOK AND FEEL GOOD WITHOUT HAVING THE INCONVENIENCE OF VISITING SALONS, ALL AT AN AFFORDABLE PRICE.”

SHIFTING ROLES

After dropping her daughter to nursery, Paria transforms from mother to business woman as she dons an Orkalia outfit and pairs it with a bag from Celine and shoes from Christian Louboutin. “My primary focus during this time is my work and not what I am wearing. The result is a comfortable and simple outfit, which I look my best in and am confident to wear throughout my different meetings.”

FOOD FOR THOUGHT

Changing into a top from Reiss, a skirt from BCBG Max Azria, shoes from Christian Louboutin and carrying a bag from Prada, Paria’s focus changes to a bit of fun as she heads out for lunch. “When meeting my friends I normally like to play it safe and go for a casual yet sophisticated look, mixing a maximum of two colours. For me, the most important part of my look is my hair. I find that if you are having a great hair day, you are good to go anywhere!”

NEW BEGINNINGS

This is the most important part of the day for Paria. “I usually head to the company headquarters to meet our stylists where I check that our bookings are going smoothly before holding meetings with our different departments.” Dressed in a top and pants from Zara, a blazer from Prada and shoes from Saint Laurent, she carries a bag from Louis Vuitton to finish the look. “We moved into our new headquarters, where we are expanding and developing our own photo studio, hair and makeup academy, and events and e-commerce divisions. It is a very busy time for us so I have to choose an outfit which can fit in wherever I am without feeling that all the attention is on my outfit rather than what I am saying.

9.00PM
IT’S TIME TO PARTY!

“As the sun sets my outfit of choice is a simple,” says Paria as she puts on a Max Mara dress, an Orkalia jacket, shoes from Saint Laurent and carries a bag from Tom Ford. “During the more corporate dinners the jacket can stay, but can be removed when the party starts! To stop it from getting boring, I tend to add a touch of glamour to the night by adding sparkling shoes or a bag to the ensemble.”
