Colours for spring are kitsch and sweet. Candy tones and soft pastel hues that give a sense of youth and playfulness are key. Inspired by the season’s sweet mood, Level Shoe District is transformed into a world where everything has a surreal, dreamlike quality; think blown up proportions, pops of pastel and highlights of neon. A Wonderland feel is reated through the use of giant balloons, neon artwork and geometric shapes, instantly transporting you into a antasy world. Our Pop Wonderland campaign let’s colours speak for themselves, with bold shapes and soft pastels being adopted for both the men’s and women’s collections.

Bringing candy coloured romanticism to life, Sophia Webster used sugary shades to reinvent typically playful designs. Showing heels that have been crafted to resemble the vivacious flamingo bird with a plumage of ruffles and laser cut leather details. Whites feel fresher than ever at Jil Sander, where the platform reigns supreme for another season. At Pierre Hardy things took a typically graphic turn, bold white edges standout out against a dark denim shoe. Proportions supersized at Nicholas Kirkwood where he imagined his towering platforms in a jewel blue tone and finished them with a signature oversized pearl while Sophia Webster’s mix of tribal prints, pop colours and palm trees have us dreaming of balmy days in Palm Springs.

Embellishments are also key, from extreme fringing at Brian Atwood to ethnic style pompoms, semi precious stones and friendship straps at Elina Linardaki, the more the better when it comes to this trend. Brands like Giuseppe Zanotti, Acne Studios and Dries Van Noten blurred the gender lines with colours like metallic, pinks and pastels becoming gender-less while evoking a sense of lightness and freedom to be creative.

Poppy, primary colours took centre-stage at Valentino with the label’s signature Rockrunner sneakers imagined in bold blue. While at Marc by Marc Jacobs the designers showed their sweet side embroidering platform wedges with cherries and adding a sparkling stone embellished broach.

Be prepared to stand out! It’s all about adding a dose of sweetness to your looks. The trick to working this dream-like trend is to let the sugary shades or Pantone hues of your footwear pop for complete looks that are perfect for summer.
