Adriana Iglesias women’s and children’s collections will be new to the Middle East for SS16 which is really exciting!

Her collection is currently stocked in high end boutiques internationally such as Hotel Du Cap, Eden Roc, Antibes and Espace Mirage in Monaco. Adriana sources the same unique silks as Roberto Cavalli and all of her designs are carefully handmade by specialists at her atelier in Valencia – the brand is very luxe!

The talented designer spoke to Femina ME about herself and her work.

1)Your designs are very sensual and you love working with silks. Is your personal style also like that?
I love silk in all of its varieties – I believe this wonderful fabric highlights the beauty of women and providesthem with elegance and sensuality. Everything for the collection is carefully handmade by specialists at our atelier in Valencia (Spain) to ensure a premium quality. All the materials are selected to seamlessly fit. We use amazing Italian silks to create an exceptional and exclusive self-describing style. I only make what I would wear myself. I breathe “The Mediterranean” from every pore of my skin and all my collections reflect my personal life. I am in love with life, so as I design myself, I do what comes from the very inside of me – I am giving the women who wear the collection a part of that Mediterranean spirit and strength. I really believe I can give at least a part of this to those women that decide to wear my pieces.

2)Tell us about your new collection
Our collections are all marked by the use of vibrant colors or exotic animal prints mostly inspired by nature and life and by art itself. The prints were inspired by the 70’s aesthetics which I adore. There is also a focus on playing with geometric designs mixed up with beautiful strong flowers. As always the collection offers some silk basics – baggy pants and “pyjama” looks but also gorgeous evening dresses, some of them with wonderful jewels (Bespoke). There are long skirts and blouses and also some silk quilted coats and vests – a kind of resort après-ski collection but with the same colorful prints as the rest of the collection.

3)Your prints are colourful and bold. What inspires you?
The SS16 collection was inspired mostly by travelling, sailing around Mediterranean Islands, Sardinia, Corsica amd also Greece and Croatia. I was also inspired by my first visit to Dubai. I cannot stop myself getting emotions from what I live as you can see;-)… so I see this collection is a Resort based range of contrasts, inspired by coast landscapes and local people. It is definitely a mix of styles but all of them have the Sea as a point of union.

4)Why children’s collection?
As a mother of two wonderful girls (the best in my life…J) I know how they love to look “just like mum” at these ages (10 and 11 in my case 😉 This is why I present a few pieces in all of my collections specially dedicated to those little girls who want to share the same style as their mums.

5)Do you plan on opening a store in Dubai?
Hopefully I can give you stockist details here in the region soon! At the moment, the collections are stocked in Marbella (Spain) and the French Riviera (St. Tropez, Cannes, Antibes Hotel du Cap Eden Roc, and Montecarlo… and online at
