Sometimes, it is the strangest of occurrences that lead to the most ingenious revelations. For instance, a chain getting caught on the palm of Katia Gaydamak led her to realise how forgotten the hand is and this eye-opener led to the creation of Gaydamak, a jewel-lery brand that launched the iconic hand bracelet.

Parisian sisters, Katia and Sonia Gaydamak joined forces in 2009 to create a line of statement jewellery around a part of a woman’s body that had been ignored for a long time. Splitting the work between them with Katia designing and Sonia developing the brand, the sisters have presented the women of the world with a unique piece of jewellery to adorn themselves with.

Drawing on the heavy influence their mother’s anti-conformist, bespoke jewellery had on them, the women enjoy using rare stones that transform their pieces. They take their trade seriously with having studied gemology in New York and using traditional techniques of high-end jewellers to make their designs.

Since 2009, Katia and Sonia have worked hard to make their jewellery available around the world and now cement their standing in the jewellery industry by bringing their brand to the Middle East.

“Dubai is one of the most happening and cosmopolitan places in the world right now so it’s very exciting to be present in the region, finally. Our hand bracelets and the rest of our high-end jewellery fits extremely well with the taste and look of the woman here,” explain the sisters.

Katia and Sonia take in the fabulous sense of style, the mixing of colors and shapes and of traditional and contemporary that they see in the women of the Middle East and believe that the designs and the unique shapes of their jewels will enhance the style of the already beautiful woman in the region.
