Peter Philips creates and styles make-up for the Dior Haute-Couture Collection runway show.
Peter Philips, Creative and Image Director for Dior Make-up, created two different looks to accompany a contemporary silhouette with either a strong black eye, or a fiery red lip.
“This diaphanous beauty displays eyes emphasized with black eyeliner combined with a nude lip, while some models put in appearances displaying scarlet lips set against a flawless complexion.”
As Peter Philips explained, “only a few groups of models, in the middle and at the end of the show, wore an intense shade of red lipstick. The idea was to create a “coup de Trafalgar” and revive the memory of the red looks thus named by Christian Dior, who would send these flamboyant designs out in the middle of a show to take the audience by surprise,” he specified.
Eyes: for the first look, Diorshow Pro liner waterproof black eye liner was applied to the upper lash line. Lashes were coated with Diorshow Maximiser 3D base and then several layers of black mascara using Diorshow Designer and Diorshow Iconic Overcurl waterproof.
The second look was achieved with the beige shade from the 5-Couleurs Palette n°536 Escapade, applied across the entire eyelid.
Complexion: Diorskin Star fluid foundation n°10, a touch of Diorskin Star Concealer n°001, and a light dusting of Poudre Nude Air.
Lips: the first look was natural using Fix It n°001, while the red lips were achieved using Crayon Contour Lèvres Rouge Royal n°952 and Diorific mat lipstick n°750 Fabuleuse. At the centre of the lower lip, Crayon Contour Lèvres n° 943 Prune Troublant and Diorific Mat lipstick n°590 Troublante were applied.
Nails: Dior Vernis n° 970 Nuit 1947
