Sights, sounds, shows and stores – this region screams fashion. The Femina ME team introduces you to one of the biggest names from the Arab world resolved to make their mark.

“It began one summer, a long time ago, with ten weddings and the classic dilemma, what do I wear? “I couldn’t find enough outfits that suited me so I decided to make my own,” explains Dima, “I got rave compliments for my work and that got me to try designing clothes for others. One thing led to another and here I am!”

With dreams of dressing A listers such as Cate Blanchett, Julia Roberts, Kate Winslet and Scarlett Johanssen, Dima juggles a full time job and her designing dreams believing that she needs one for the other. “The strategic mind fuels the creative one and vice versa. It is pressure but I am lucky enough to love both as much as I do,” she states.

At its’ core, Dima’s collections are about women and the feminine form, regardless of shape and size. But this concept is not without it’s challenges. “Distribution, production and, sometimes, innovation, have been challenges of mine,” she laments. To overcome innovation, Dima focused on the women of the region and tried to really understand them, which, she found, was the key to distributing further. “Production was the real struggle. specially when trying to find the right manufacturing process and housing system to fit my needs. Thankfully, that has been perfected,” says the vibrant woman.

A head full of nostalgia from her mother’s wardrobe, Dima continues to bring stylish, sophisticated and unique evening wear to the women of the region with the hopes of creating stunning outfits that make you feel beautiful and confident.
