WHEN THE EMBLEMATIC CODES OF COUTURE DRESS FRAGRANCE
Circles, half-moons, triangles. A constellation of geometric shapes through which peep glimpses of bare skin, the crisp poplin of a white shirt… The effect creates a veil that is both window and blind, in which openings hide as much as they reveal.
This intriguing game of hide-and-seek tells the story of the Alaïa laser-cut pattern, which has become one of the designer’s main visual signatures, ever since its first appearance on a corset-belt created in the 1980s.
The story of ALAÏA PARIS perfume is written when people meet. The meeting between the couturier and the artist Aurore de la Morinerie adds a new chapter to this continuing story. For the launch of his first fragrance, Azzedine Alaïa invited the artist to create a special series of 4 sketches revisiting this emblematic laser-cut pattern which ornaments his signature looks and accessories, including the fragrance bottle itself.
